We can personally vouch for how romantic and relaxing Riviera Maya's Royal Hideaway Playacar is from our own vacation at this beautiful, tranquil resort just 45 minutes south of Cancun International Airport. Our stay included 5 glorious nights in a deluxe room with all the amenities you'd expect from a AAA Five Diamond, Leading Hotel of the World!
ReplyDeleteWe read reviews as to how wonderful the dining was at RHPL but it far surpassed our expectations. Simply said, the food and drink was exquisite...and all included in the cost of our room! Without a doubt, that is one of the most enjoyable features of this "Sexy Beach Getaway."
There are eight restaurants of varying specialties throughout the resort to include Italian, Caribbean & Mexican, Pan Asian, Japanese, The Grill for seafood, Club Royale Dinner Theatre, Las Ventanas, and The Deck for casual dining. We enjoyed a breakfast daily in Spices where we "laid claim" to a table viewing the surf and dreamt of ways to permanently move to a place where we could enjoy a fine beach every day. (Unfortunately not in our immediate future.) The most popular and well known resort restaurant is Las Ventanas, top rated and operated by Raul Vaquerizo, voted Top Chef of the Year in Quintana Roo, MX. (Cancun is located in the state of QR.)
Many sports are offered right on the beach of Royal Hideaway Playacar. The resort offers an Intro to Scuba Diving and you can enjoy your first Open Water Dive with a Scuba company that picks you up right at the Resort's Beach!
The Riviera Maya is also known for the wonderful deep sea fishing available from various companies located nearby. The concierge can set you up at your leisure with boats ranging in size from 16'-42'!
One of the additional highlights of our stay was a visit to Kukulcan Temple pyramid in Chichen Itza, just a few hours away. It is a "must see!" Some people consider this an 8th Wonder of the World!
